Your CUHK email address, Student ID (SID) for hostel verification, profile details you provide (name, hostel, gender, year, major, languages, photo), questionnaire answers, swipe and match history, and chat messages.
To match you with potential roommates in the same hostel and gender pool, to verify your hostel placement, to enable chat between matched users, and to keep the community safe (moderation, reporting, abuse prevention).
Other verified students in the same hostel and gender pool can see your name, photo, year, major, languages, and questionnaire summary on the swipe card. Your SID and email are never shown to other students. Admins can see verification submissions and flagged messages for moderation.
Profiles are kept while your account is active. Matches with no messages exchanged are auto-deleted after 30 days. When you delete your account, your profile, questionnaire, swipes, matches, and messages are permanently removed.
Data is stored in a managed Postgres database with row-level security. Profile photos are stored in private object storage. Auth uses one-time codes — we never see your password.
We use Supabase (database, auth, storage), Resend (email delivery via our verified sending domain), and Vercel/Cloudflare (hosting). We do not sell your data.
We are not affiliated with CUHK. Your SID is used only to confirm your hostel assignment with the volunteer admin team and is never shared externally.
You can edit your profile at any time, withdraw a pending verification, or delete your account from the profile page. Once deleted, data cannot be recovered.
